Canada’s federal bank regulator is proposing to raise the mortgage stress test level to 5.25 per cent, which could make it harder for some to get into the real estate market. James Laird, co-founder of RateHub.ca, joins BNN Bloomberg to weigh in. He believes that this is a logical move. But he also said that this news will likely add more fuel to the housing market before the June 1st implementation date.
