Competition Bureau trying to put pressure on Rogers and Shaw: Lawyer Mark Warner
Mark Warner, principal counsel at MAAW Law, tells BNN Bloomberg the Competition Bureau’s reported plan to oppose the Rogers-Shaw deal might not necessarily result in a contested merger. Warner says the bureau wants Rogers to find a stronger competitor to buy the cellphone provider Freedom Mobile, and if it could get an agreement with telecom rival Quebecor, the threat of litigation against the Rogers-Shaw deal could go away.
