University of Calgary engineers have developed a way to transport bitumen in a safer and more economic way. The team has developed a bitumen pellet. According to Ian Gates, Department Head, chemical and petroleum engineering with the University of Calgary's Schulich School of Engineering the pellets can be used to make asphalt or can be converted back to bitumen.
