Brad McMillan, CIO at Commonwealth Financial Network, tells BNN Bloomberg there are no excess workers in the U.S. economy at present, which makes the prospects of mass layoffs unlikely. He also says that despite forecasts, 'recession keeps not showing up', because people have jobs and that drives retail spending. He believes this could make the U.S. Fed’s job harder, but adds that Chair Powell has been successful in guiding market expectations so far.
