Ramesh Srinivasan, faculty member for the Information Studies and Design Media Arts departments at University of California, Los Angeles, talks about the next steps after the Facebook outage and what this means for the company’s future path. He says that there needs to be regulatory action taken that addresses the toxic algorithm that’s used by Facebook. Srinivasan says this needs to start with audit and disclosures so we know what information is being collected and how.
