(Bloomberg) -- LG Electronics Inc. is partnering with Microsoft Corp. to use the US software maker’s artificial intelligence technology in its consumer electronics products.
The two companies will collaborate on AI agents for various spaces, including homes, vehicles, hotels and offices, LG Chief Executive Officer William Cho announced at CES, the major consumer technology conference taking place in Las Vegas this week.
LG has been using Microsoft’s voice recognition and speech synthesis technologies to power its self-driving AI home hub and says it plans to develop AI agents that can go beyond understanding and interacting with customers by predicting their needs and preferences.
Separately, Microsoft will also collaborate with LG in the field of AI data centers. The company will lean on LG’s thermal management systems and advanced chiller technologies to create next-generation data facilities, said Microsoft Chief Commercial Officer Judson Althoff.
