Three Injured After Explosion at South Korea’s Military Unit

(Bloomberg) -- Three people were injured in an explosion at a military unit in South Korea’s southeastern city of Gimhae, Yonhap News reported, citing police and fire authorities.

The blast happened during an inspection of an oil tank facility, which didn’t contain any fuel at the time, Yonhap said. None of the injured civilian workers are in life-threatening condition, and no military personnel were hurt, it added.

The won weakened after the news, slipping as much as 0.3% to 1,451.80 per dollar, before trading at 1,454.65 as of 3:11 p.m. local time.

The fire department, police and military are investigating the cause of the accident and assessing the extent of the damage, Yonhap reported.
