(Bloomberg) -- Luigi Mangione will be back in court Monday on New York state murder and weapons charges over the shooting of UnitedHealth Group Inc. executive Brian Thompson, the Manhattan district attorney’s office said.

At the hearing, the 26-year-old Maryland native could enter a plea of guilty or not guilty to charges including first- and second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and possessing a forged driver’s license.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg alleges Mangione waited outside a midtown Manhattan hotel before shooting Thompson as he was about to attend an investor meeting on Dec. 4 with a 3D-printed ghost gun.

Mangione also faces parallel federal charges over the attack in a separate case. Mangione’s lawyer said at a hearing Thursday that prosecutors could seek the death penalty on one of the charges in the federal case.
